Create a Unified Chart visualization in proPilot to display different filterable and customizable series, such as bars and lines.

Introduction

With this visualization, you can display up to 5 consolidated series over time from the indicator table. Each series represents an indicator and data type pair. To make it easier to compare data with different orders of magnitude, you can assign each series to one of two vertical axes. You can also configure up to 6 reference filters based on a level and a reference information, which users can combine. Finally, you can fully customize the chart, including its structure, legend and grid, the display style of each series, such as line or bar, color and style, and the display names of filters, series and vertical axes.

Visualization configuration

1. In the left-hand menu, select “Workspace configuration”, then “Workspace Visualizations”.

2. In the “Workspace: Visualizations Views” tab, create a new visualization.

3. Complete the general configuration fields:

   1. Name: enter the technical name of the visualization.

   2. Display Name: enter the name visible to users.

   3. Type: select “UnifiedChart”.

   4. Internal Comment: add any information intended for administrators, if necessary.

   5. Workspace: select the workspace where the quantitative data to be displayed is collected.

   6. Date range filter: select “Yes” if users should be able to filter the data by period.

4. Save the visualization, then click “Edit” to access its detailed configuration.

Configure the reference filters

1. In the “Filter Configuration” section, click “Add New Filter”.

2. An “Add Filter” window opens. Complete the following fields:

   1. Display name: enter the name of the filter as it will be displayed to users.

   2. Level: select the level associated with the reference information.

   3. Information: select the reference information that will be used to filter the data.

3. Click “Add” to save the filter.

4. Repeat the process for each filter you want to add. You can configure up to 6 reference filters.

5. The “Filter Configuration” table summarizes the settings for each filter.

6. Before saving the visualization, make sure that each filter has a level and information selected. A warning message is displayed when a filter is missing any required value.

Customize the display options

1. In the “Display options” section, enter the “Y Axis Left label”.

2. Enable or disable the chart background grid and select its orientation, for example “Horizontal”.

3. Select the position of the legend, for example “Top”.

Configure the chart series

1. In the “Series configuration” section, click “Add series”.

2. An “Add Series” window opens. Each series consists of an indicator and a data type.

3. Configure the series using the following fields:

   1. Enabled: select “Yes” to display the series in the chart.

   2. Data field - Indicator: select the indicator to display.

   3. Data field - Datatype: select the data type associated with the indicator, such as actual values, forecasts or budget.

   4. Type: select how the series should be displayed:

      • “Line” to display a line;

      • “Bar” to display bars.

   5. Y Axis: assign the series to the “Left” or “Right” vertical axis.

   6. Color: select the color of the series or enter its color code directly.

   7. For line series:

      1. Line style: select the line style, for example “Solid”.

      2. Line weight: select the desired line thickness.

      3. Point markers: choose whether data points should be marked and select their shape.

4. Click “Add” to save the series.

5. Repeat the process for each series you want to add. You can configure up to 5 chart series.

6. The “Series configuration” table summarizes the settings for each series.

Activate the visualization on the homepage

1. You can activate the tile on the entity visualization homepage and configure its title, description, link label and illustration image.
